The Union for the Mediterranean in motion
The Water Embassy and the Young Water Ambassadors disrupt the established order.
On February 9th, 2011 in the Marble Hall of the Hotel Marigny in Paris, the Water EMbassy received a good number of leaders of Water several Mediterranean countries. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Rafiq Husseini, Deputy Secretary General of the UfM charge of Water and Environment, who had traveled specially from Barcelona.
The Mediterranean Union of Young Water Ambassadors (UMJAE) is intended action can help transform even the UfM in the eyes of virtual populations in the Mediterranean UfM a real and functional. This "Union" thereby become palpable for those people who will be able to appropriate it, leaving only the water management specialists alone.
Founded in 2006, the Water Embassy was present at the 5th World Water Forum in Istanbul, Turkey, Ministerial Meeting of the UfM in Barcelona where she presented STRATEAU, a project of UMJAE worn by scholars and students of engineering schools in the Mediterranean basin.
The objective of the Water EMbassy is to achieve in the South and East Mediterranean projects that will focus on infrastructure remediation, drinking water and sustainable management of water resources .
Students coordinators UMJAE came to Paris to explain how they work in the first six projects of the Mediterranean Union of Young Water Ambassadors. The experts were careful to listen, to examine and discuss their proposals. French experts, Greek, Israeli, Italian, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Turkish, Tunisian, not to mention the Arab League ... worked together in harmony for the Mediterranean Water Strategy desired by the Young. While in Barcelona, no agreement could be signed at the end of the meeting, all have adopted the Paris Declaration.
For the first time, specialists have opened their ranks to make room for young people who ordinarily expect full years before having a say. Today, they have earned their place among the great, officially, to build the Mediterranean of tomorrow.
